Mountmellick Development Association

is a group of volunteers that exist to positively promote development of our community in all areas. We undertake a lot of projects to create employment in Mountmellick and the surrounding area.We currently have a board of 12 people and we also have a number of sub-committees comprised of board members and volunteers who have a contribution to make to the various committees.

We are involved in various projects in the business, educational, social, cultural and environmental areas.

We provide a creche on site which caters for children  from early childhood to school going ages.

The youth development  project (MYDC) works in tandem with all the local schools and provides supports for families that may require support in various areas. This project has two full time staff and a number of part time staff and volunteers.

Our state of the art commercial kitchens are also a major asset to the local area and much further afield.
These kitchens may be leased for periods of one year or more or on an hourly / daily basis depending on customer requirements.

We also have a craft Museum on site. The main focus of the Museum is to conserve and display original pieces of Mountmellick Work (Embroidery) and to protect the memory of Mountmellick’s rich Quaker industrial past.
