Mountmellick Youth Development Centre

The Mountmellick Youth Development Centre (MYDC) was established in 1997 as a distinct programme of the Mountmellick Development Association. The Centre works with children and families living in Mountmellick, with a priority focus on those who are most disadvantaged.

Teens

Programmes supporting teenagers through Junior and Leaving Certificate. Many are working towards achieving their Bronze/Silver An Gaisce Award and are volunteering with the younger participants groups. The young people have been involved in fundraising to secure funding for their activities.

Teen Counselling

Counselling for Young People:
Available to those young people who are experiencing difficulties as a result of a bereavement/parental separation. Co-operation between schools in identifying those in need and referring them to the MYDC.

Pass

(Programme to Assist Settling into Secondary School):
Established to assist participants into settling into secondary school and supporting young people to promote school retention and completion.
