What we do

The programmes delivered in the MYDC have expanded according to the changing needs of the participants. Activities now include: Shapes (Supporting Home and Primary Education Strategies), Homework Club, Play (Play and Leisurely Activities), Early Bird Clubs, Transition Programme, Pass (programme to Assist with Setting into Secondary School), Teenage, Drama, Family Support Unit, Summer Link Project and a Parent and Toddler group.

Members of the eldest group take part in youth leadership workshops and act as junior leaders during various events within the programme and the community.

Parent and child counselling is offered through the centre.

The aim of the MYDC is to support children/young people and their parents to promote school retention and to build their confidence and capacity to grow as individuals and as part of their community through a wide range of interventions at the centre.
